Last Chance to Update Your Shipping Address

Hope you had a great weekend!
We are three weeks away from finishing up manufacturing. Our team has already started preparing for the fulfillment process. We have close to 1300 backers across the platforms. Each backer has a different set of products we need to pack based on the color of the power bank you chose and the add-on products you purchased. We will be printing out a pack list for each backer and carefully follow it to avoid making any mistakes.

Testing Lab and For those of You Who are Entrepreneurial

Dear Backers,
Hope you had a great weekend! As we promised, we'll keep doing mini weekly updates until we ship out our products to all of the backers.
Today we are giving you a quick update on the product and some background info for those of you who are entrepreneurial and are curious about the evolution of the marketing aspect of our project.
Testing Lab
After quoting with 4 third-party testing labs for FCC, CE, ROHS certifications, we decided on a testing lab referred and used by one of our entrepreneur friends.
FCC -SDOC, CE - EMC & LVD, ROHS testing will be done within 7 business days once we send the final functional production unit to them. We’ll keep you posted on the testing result. If there is anything needed to change in order to get FCC, CE and ROHS certification, we’ll do it with our factory in a timely manner.
65W GaN Charger
Many backers have reached out to add the new innovative 65W GaN charger to their add-on product list. Since we are getting many requests for more info, we are including a pdf page here with more details. We are offering them $39 USD to our existing backers. Our Branding & Packaging
When we first created the product, we had a vision of building a company creating products with innovative technologies yet simple and minimalist designs. We focus on the functionality and quality with designs stripped to its essence.
When we think about the product that will be delivered to your hand, the quality and the functionality of the product are obviously what's the most important to us, but we also want our packaging and logo to reflect our brand ideology. We redesigned our logo and created several evolutions of packaging until we decide on the final design.

We also created a simple user manual. It’s intended to help backers and future customers understand quickly how to use our Just Simple power bank. Thank you guys for believing in us. We have been under a lot of stress and pressure because of the long delay and lack of cash. The pandemic situation definitely impacted our anticipated cash flow this year. We had to take loans to keep the production going. Nevertheless, we are still moving forward.

Production Update, Power Adapter & Product Personalization

Dear Backers,
I imagine you have been waiting anxiously as we are still working as hard as we can to tie the ends.
We, unfortunately, missed our October ship date due to several hiccups with material testing, but we are trying our best to speed up production. We will be posting a weekly update going forward till we ship.
Material Testing
Please allow me to explain what I meant by material testing. Our last stage of the production process, in simple terms, includes sourcing components/material from different suppliers for the 2000 units of power banks we are producing, testing all the components we received, assembling all the parts to individual power banks, and packaging.
For products like ours, the majority of the time is spent on material testing while the assembly process takes only a few days. Verifying & testing components are the most critical part of the production process to avoid creating defect products. We have received 2000 units of batteries and all the other critical electronic components from our suppliers. We have been testing the batteries, the PCB boards, measuring the stats and accuracy when the components work together, and etc. Because we had our batteries custom made, there were more back and forth of testing and adjusting between the battery supplier and our factory than we expected. This will likely keep going for a couple more weeks. We are going to send you another update next week for a new update.
In the meantime, I will be reaching out to some of the backers.
1. If you have purchased the 45W power adapter.
Old Model
The partner who created the power adapter above invented a more powerful 65W adapter and obsoleted the old one. Not only does this newer version have a higher wattage (increased from 45W to 65W), it is also more compact. More importantly, it uses a very efficient and trendy material GaN material that has created all the buzz lately. We are going to replace the older version with the new one at the same price. I will reach out and provide more information to the backers who backed this add-on product. If you did not purchase a power adaptor as an add-on product when you filled out the survey but is interested in the GaN adapter, please feel free to email us at [email protected]

Just Simple Power Bank
Last Product Iteration and Production Delay

Dear Backers,
Hope you are enjoying your summer (or winter if you live in Australia)! Sorry for the long wait since our last update. We are on our 5th and the last iteration of the product and everything is coming together Very Well! We are experiencing a little delay because of the design reiteration process. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay would cause you! I will explain where we are and the reason for this delay in this update.
Functional Unit Testing
We last shared with you that we have received the non-functional unit from the factory to check the overall product aesthetic. We improved the design and shared with you the changes. Three weeks ago, we received a functional unit and did a variety of testing to make sure the product meets all the specifications. We are very happy with the testing results. Below is a short summary
1. The output of USB-C, Qi-wireless charging, Apple Watch, and Built-in cables met our specifications.
2. The input 18W for regular use and 30W for pass-through charging met our specifications.
3. Battery capacity met our expectations
4. The recharging time is accurate, 3.5 hours or less from 0-100%
5. The suction cups quality exceeded our expectations - very strong and stable.
Things Needed to Improve for the Last Iteration
Although we are very happy with this unit we received, we still identified three things we have to fix before we move to full mass production. These will be the last changes we make!
For the past three weeks, we have worked with the factory and provided solutions to the following
1. Need easier access to the built-in cables
Currently, the built-in cables are not easy to pull out. This would be inconvenient for users who use built-in cables a lot. After discussing with the factory, we decided to make the handles of the built-in cables slightly bigger.
2. Accident shut-off of the Qi-wireless charging port due to firmware error
We have solved the issue by debugging the firmware and validated in the PCBA
3. Need to Calibrate the battery percentage indicator. Current not accurate, need to change the firmware
We did a detailed battery percentage calibration process and eliminated the problem
We will receive hopefully the last iteration of the functional unit on Monday. We expect this unit to have solved all the issues we identified so we can start mass production next week.
Delay and Reasons for Delay
This being said, we are very sorry to announce that we are going to have an additional 21-30 day delay. We apologize for the one month delay due to our planning!
First of all, Lang and I were supposed to travel to Shenzhen to oversee manufacturing, but because of the global pandemic, we couldn’t leave the US. The solution we came up with was to ask the factory to send us each product iteration. We approve every step before they move to the next stage. Waiting for products to be shipped to the US took longer than we anticipated.
Also, to create the best product we could ever come up with, we decided to have additional iteration and we want to receive the additional sample before we give the factory the final go-ahead.
We sincerely apologize again for the delay. I’m hopeful that all the iterations will be worth it. We don’t want to deliver a mediocre product so please stay with us for just a little bit longer!
